Motivity ServiceLife App Update (5.05.04.11)

You can now attach files stored on the smartphone or tablet, associate them with a job/visit and transmit them back to the office.
This can be used to send back diagnostic files from equipment you are maintaining. For example in the commercial catering world this could be the service and haccp files downloaded from Rational ovens.

Motivity Liftdata App Update (1.7.0.27) Available on Google Play

The latest update for our Motivity Liftdata Android app can be found on Google Play
Fixes and requested enhancements include:

  • Working Offline Notification on home page, which also advises about wifi hotspots that may require login details (such as BT WiFi, The Cloud and O2)
  • Fix crashes when accepting/starting some jobs
  • Other "last service dates" are now shown below the last service date field
  • Job Details text can now be selected/copied (standard tap and hold to copy)
  • The layout of the Completed Jobs List has been compacted and redesigned
  • Added job start time to completed list.
  • Completed list only shows received time in brackets when the job has been received.
  • Completed jobs that are older than 7 days will now be removed upon viewing the completed list.
  • Completed list can be sorted
Thanks to engineers who have been sending in feature requests through the Feedback option in the app.

Stewart Electrical Contractors - 61% More Jobs with Motivity

R & MA Stewart are a large and respected electrical contractor delivering electrical engineering solutions across London and the south east of England.  Clients include housing associations, local authorities, architects and surveyors, as well as private and domestic clients. In the past year alone, their team of electricians have attended over 32000 jobs including:
  • 6000 electrical emergencies
  • 5000 periodic inspections
  • installing 600 ventilation units
  • 500 new electrical installations
  • installing over 150 lighting columns
Until recently the business relied heavily on paper job sheets, certificates, risk assessment and other forms.  Each job also required a number of photographs to act as documentary evidence. Getting completed paperwork back to the office in a timely and cost effective manner was proving more and more of a challenge. 

The directors at Stewarts, realising that there was massive scope for improvement, selected to implement Appstation's Motivity handheld technology across their entire team of operatives. This has been tailored to their requirements allowing them to operate in a similar way but paper free and more efficiently.

By linking to their existing office job management software, work orders are now sent electronically to the workforce. All job sheets and reports - such as BS7671 Electrical Test reports, photos and signatures are captured on semi-rugged handhelds.   As soon as jobs are completed they are transmitted back to RM head offices immediately.

All photos and documents are created and archived automatically cutting out the need for the administrative time and cost.

Stewarts are handling 61% more jobs this year and, with the time and cost savings, Motivity is not only helping them remain competitive in their industry but also helping them provide the high levels of customer service that their clients require.

Welcome to Greenstone Energy Solutions - one of the latest multi-skilled service companies who are benefitting from Appstation's Motivity mobile workforce system.  
Based near Edinburgh, Greenstone work for homeowners, private landlords, property agents and insurance companies offering installations & servicing for Boilers, Central Heating, Electrical, Fire Safety equipment.  Engineers undertake a range of activities including:
  • Gas safety checks and breakdown works
  • Oil boiler safety checks and breakdown works
